The Mysteries
Much of what I've written recently are letters to my wonderful, late husband, Richie. They are expressions of my heart, and somehow, writing letters to him has helped me a great deal. I'm grateful for that. I have decided to begin writing more consistently. I've decided to also write to you starting today.
This morning, as I was reading in the Bible, I came across one of my favorite scriptures:
"It is God's privilege to conceal things and the king's privilege to discover them." - Proverbs 25:2 (NLT)
This is one of the many mysteries showing what it looks like to know God and follow him in this life. This scripture was most likely written by King Solomon, who was King David's son. Solomon was regarded as one of the wisest men who ever lived. He, the one who was full of wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. Even he recognized God conceals. God also gives us the joy of seeing what he has for us to discover. It's not a negative tension. No, I believe it's intended to be explorative and even exciting. To reach that point, one must feel trust toward God. That's something which grows and sometimes fluctuates. Remember, we're humans.
I share this because I'm discovering there is so much I want to learn about God. I am now learning how to live life as a widow with my dearly beloved already in Heaven, is a tough one (understatement). It's a mystery. I desire so much to discover any of these mysteries God may have to show me. So, I take it a day at a time and ask God to reveal to me his secrets he has to tell me, just for the day. I'm not looking for all the answers to the meaning of life and life's tragedies. Nope, I am not ready for all that. I only desire to discover what mysteries may be found in the day today. My prayer is that I'm observant enough to notice.
"God conceals the revelation of his word in the hiding place of his glory. But the honor of kings is revealed by how they thoroughly search out the deeper meaning of all that God says." - Proverbs 25:2 (TPT)
